On behalf of our undergraduate-led academic journal, The Irvine Atlas, we are pleased to announce the latest edition of the publication titled 'Making Waves'.

The journal's undergraduate editorial team write:

With immense pride and gratitude, we present the vibrant third issue of the Irvine Atlas Academic Journal: Making Waves. This edition signifies not just our continued growth, but a powerful testament to the incredible community that fuels this journal. The bold theme of this issue, Making Waves, reflects our spirit of challenging conventional knowledge and championing undergraduate voices in academia. Inspired by the University of St Andrews' "Making Waves" campaign, we recognize our own journey of creating impact and fostering change within the academic landscape.

The Irvine Atlas Academic Journal stands as a vibrant platform for interdisciplinary scholarship at the University of St. Andrews, with a focus on geography, sustainable development, and social justice. Rooted in the legacy of its predecessor, the St. Andrews Geographer (STAG), the journal has evolved from its origins in the 1970s to become a publication that reflects the intellectual curiosity and creativity of generations of undergraduates. As a whole, the Irvine Atlas is more than just a collection of academic work; it is a collaborative effort that reflects the University of St. Andrews’ commitment to intellectual rigor and responsible stewardship of the world we inhabit. By publishing research that spans the humanities, sciences, and social sciences, the Irvine Atlas encourages a holistic approach to problem-solving, one that recognizes the complexities of today’s global challenges. The Irvine Atlas serves as a testament to the power of undergraduate literature to inspire change. We invite everyone reading this to join us on this journey, as we explore the ever-shifting terrain of geography and sustainable development, guided by the principles of responsibility, innovation, and hope for a more just and sustainable future.
