Support for students with autistic spectrum conditions

Understand the advice, support and events available for students with autistic spectrum conditions.


The University’s Disability Service team provides advice on:

  • reasonable adjustments and personal support
  • medical information
  • supporting documentation that outlines recommended teaching and exam adjustments

The team also shares relevant details about your support plan with other University services and Academic Schools.

Weekly autism group

During the semester, a weekly autism group gives students an opportunity to meet peers, socialise, share experiences and receive information about university life.

Webinar: Entrant Essentials

To support the transition to university, students can access the Entrant Essentials webinar and:

  • get information on arriving in St Andrews
  • learn what to expect from teaching and learning
  • gain perspectives from other students

The webinar is in August. Offer holders will receive an email invitation to join.

Orientation

Support during Orientation can include a student peer mentor to assist with navigating teaching and social areas, and helping with new tasks like logging in and browsing University systems.
